Some T-shirts were made to mock the words that Madison Bumgarner aimed at Yasiel Puig on Monday, and Henry Schulman writes that sometimes Bumgarner needs to be less confrontational.

It was the first time I can remember seeing a bench-clearing incident in which all of the participants for one team ran to intercept someone from their own team, rather than players from the other side. From Brandon Belt to the Giants running in from the bullpen, all of the San Francisco players seemed intent on stopping Bumgarner, knowing his history with Puig and how willing and ready he is to fight the L.A. outfielder -- and how important it is to keep him healthy and on the mound as San Francisco tries to save itself from a historical collapse and salvage a playoff berth.
