Stetson Hatters @ Florida State Seminoles

Chumley's 4 RBIs power Stetson to 8-3 upset of Florida State
Amber Chumley went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs to lead the Stetson Hatters to an 8-3 upset victory over the Florida State Seminoles in the opening game of the Tallahassee Regional of the NCAA softball tournament Friday.
The Hatters (37-20) took control early and never looked back, powered by a potent offense that produced 12 hits. Logan Forman got the scoring started in the top of the second inning with a two-run home run. Chumley broke the game open in the third with a three-run blast that extended Stetson's lead to 5-1. She added an RBI single in the sixth. Forman finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs, while Annabella McClerren drove in two runs with a key single in the fourth. Starting pitcher Hayley Arnold threw five innings, allowing three runs on five hits. Ava Braswell shut the door with two scoreless innings of relief.
Florida State (49-9) struggled to keep pace despite hitting two home runs of its own. Anna Hinde put the Seminoles on the board in the bottom of the second with a solo shot. In the third inning, Ashtyn Danley launched a two-run homer that cut the deficit to 5-3, but it was as close as they would get. Danley finished 1-for-3 with two RBIs, and Hinde was 1-for-2 with one RBI. Kennedy Harp was a bright spot for the Seminoles, going 2-for-3. Starting pitcher Jazzy Francik lasted just 2⅔ innings, surrendering five earned runs on five hits.
