South Australia 305 (Hunt 81, Manenti 53, Murphy 4-67) and 204 for 3 dec (Sangha 57*, Hunt 48) drew with Victoria 308 (Kellaway 66, Peake 59, Sutherland 51, McSweeney 3-18)
South Australia opener Henry Hunt finished the regular season with 667 runs before the match with their Sheffield Shield final opponents Victoria ended in a draw.
Both captains decided to call it before tea with South Australia 204 for 3 in their second innings. No result was possible after rain had washed out 50 overs of play on day three.
The sides will resume hostilities on March 26 at the same venue where South Australia will attempt to win back-to-back Shield titles for the first time in their history.
They have won the competition 14 times overall. Victoria have won the Shield on 32 occasions with the most recent in the 2018-19 season.
Hunt, who was player of the match, enters the final after a consistent season and as the third-highest run scorer in the competition this summer.
He made 48 in the second innings on Tuesday before being run out after top-scoring with 81 in the first dig. His 667 runs for the season at an average of 39.23 have given his side reliable starts. The 29-year-old went past 4000 first-class runs during the match.
South Australia resumed on 27 without loss on the final day with Hunt run out by Mitch Perry from square leg at the non-striker's end after he hesitated before trying to take a quick single.
Captain Nathan McSweeney got in some valuable batting practice before the final while Jason Sangha also continued his good form after making 115 in the previous match against NSW.
Test paceman Scott Boland picked up a wicket for Victoria to take his Shield tally for the season to 26 in just five matches.
