Surrey 17 for 0 trail Yorkshire 486 (Lyth 141, Bairstow 120, Fisher 4-92) by 469 runs

Surrey took the remaining six Yorkshire first-innings wickets before lunch to bowl them out for 486 during a rain-interrupted second day of the Rothesay County Championship fixture at Headingley.

England Test quick Matthew Fisher finished with four for 92 from 25 overs, striking once today as the White Rose advanced from their overnight 362 for four.

Following a full morning's play, only four overs were possible after lunch and nothing beyond 4pm, with Surrey's reply reaching 17 without loss.

Fisher struck in the day's second over when he had Jonny Bairstow brilliantly caught at wide mid-on by a diving Jordan Clark for 120. Yorkshire's other centurion Adam Lyth was next to go for 141 when he tentatively pushed forwards at Clark's seam and edged to first slip.

England wicketkeeper-batter Jamie Smith was on the field this morning but didn't take the gloves for Surrey having taken a blow on the right hand late on day one. Josh Blake deputised behind the stumps.

George Hill and Dom Bess shared 57 from 379 for six and contributed 34 and 42 respectively before falling to Dans Worrall and Lawrence.

The spin of Lawrence also accounted for the wicket of Ben Cliff - bowled like Bess had been - before Clark had Jhye Richardson caught in the deep to wrap things up.

The players returned to the field after lunch to start the Surrey reply, only for umpires Michael Gough and James Middlebrook to about-turn amidst light rain.

Following a near two-hour delay from 1.50pm, play resumed briefly, allowing Surrey captain Rory Burns to drive and pull two boundaries off Jack White's new-ball seam in an unbeaten 14.

Yorkshire finished with four batting bonus points, while Surrey claimed two bowling points.

In all, 59 overs were lost from the day's allotted 96. Play was abandoned just before 5.45pm.
