Brandon Browner: 'I want to win it all'

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots cornerback Brandon Browner has a simple New Year’s resolution: “Win it all.”

“I want to win it all, to be honest,” Browner said. “That’s the only thing that matters to me -- to win it all. If we win it all, I think everything will fall into place.”

Browner won a Super Bowl last season as a member of the Seattle Seahawks but was suspended for the postseason. So, he is all business with the Patriots’ road to the Super Bowl starting up.

“It’s very exciting because it’s win or go home from this point on, and if you do win you get one step closer to where you want to be,” Browner said. “So it’s very exciting.

“We have a good group of veterans and a good group of guys, young guys. Leaders are going to lead on this team, a great mix of guys,” he said.

Browner is enjoying the Patriots’ approach to the playoffs during the bye week, with Wednesday’s practice being a scrimmage that focused on competition. The Patriots split into blue and white squads to kick up the intensity.

“White won. We won by a field goal. It was fun,” Browner said. “It was a great way to keep the guys competing and get something [more] out of practice. It is a bye week, so some guys' minds may try to get out of here and get done with the week. So [head coach Bill Belichick] set it up for us to compete and it was a great idea.”

Browner detailed the steps he and his teammates are taking to stay focused during the bye week.

“Practice, getting our bodies right, watching some football this week to see who our opponent is and coming out next Saturday,” Browner said.

While Belichick isn’t a fan of watching a game live from a scouting aspect, Browner is looking forward to getting an early start on the Patriots’ next opponent.

“I’m so into football so I sit around and watch football when I’m not playing,” Browner said. “You watch as a fan and a player. You want to see which team you are playing against. Me personally, what group of receivers I match up best against.

“Bill is looking at it as a coach. Me, I’m watching the receiver and the DBs at one time.”
