MLB Rumor Central: Promotion of Byung Ho Park not imminent?

Byung Ho Park seems to have regained his stroke at Triple-A Rochester, but a call-up by the Minnesota Twins is not imminent, reports Jace Frederick of the Pioneer Press.

Park was hitting a mere .191 with a .275 OBP when he was demoted on July 1. The Korean first baseman/DH has proceeded to feast on International League pitching and has eight homers in his last 10 games, including three for the Red Wings in a 13-5 win over Pawtucket on Thursday afternoon.

Despite the hot streak, Twins manager Paul Molitor confirmed any pending roster moves are likely on hold until after Monday’s trade deadline. “We haven’t decided or made any decisions about any potential returns for him yet,” Molitor told the Pioneer Press, “but obviously you pay attention.”

Another factor that could be keeping Park at Rochester for the time being is Kennys Vargas, who has a 1.064 OPS in 16 games since being promoted.
