Report: Wizards' Webster losing weight to gain court time

Back surgeries have dominated Martell Webster's last four NBA seasons. A shooting guard who made 62 starts for the Washington Wizards in 2012-13, Webster was limited to 32 appearances off the bench last season, averaging only 3.3 points in 11 minutes per game.

Webster, who will turn 29 in December, recently told Ben Mehic of Fansided about the offseason training that he hopes will allow him to make more of a contribution during the last two seasons of his four-year, $22 million contract:

"'I dropped 20 pounds and I’m probably going to drop 10 more, so that I’m about 206 — anywhere from 206 to 210 this next year, that’s what I want to play at. I feel amazing, a lot of pressure has been taken off my back and off of my joints and I feel great. I do Artesian massage, visit a chiropractor and do pilates all throughout the week.'"
