Report: Battier will find out if Clemens can carry a tune

Former NBA player Shane Battier played with the Houston Rockets from 2006 through 2011. Battier has formed a foundation to help out students and on September 17 "Battioke" will take place with former MLB pitcher Roger Clemens as one of the singers. From Jenny Dial Creech of the Houston Chronicle:

"The former Rocket and 'the Rocket' are among the singers lined up for the upcoming 'Clutch City Battioke' presented by BBVA Compass — an event run by Battier’s Take Charge Foundation. The event ... raises scholarship money for local high school students. This is the fifth year of Battioke, the unique event that started in Houston, came to Battier and his wife Heidi while they were hanging out in midtown. 'We both love karaoke,' Battier said. 'I think we were at Christian’s Tailgate when it came to us. We thought, ‘why don’t we do a karaoke fundraiser?’' The event was a hit from the beginning. ... Former Rockets Chuck Hayes and Kyle Lowry were the first two Battioke champions. ... Battier can host Battioke anywhere, but said Houston was a city he wanted to bring the event back to because it’s a place where he felt like the foundation could make a difference."
