The Golden State Warriors currently have 14 players under contract with fully guaranteed salaries for the 2016-17 season, and all of them are expected to make the opening-night roster in late October. Between now and the start of training camp in late September, the Warriors will bring in up to six more players to compete for the 15th roster spot, and they have agreed to two deals in recent days.

Over the weekend, ESPN's Marc Stein reported that veteran center JaVale McGee has agreed to a training camp contract with the Warriors after spending 2015-16 with the Dallas Mavericks. On Monday, Shams Charania of The Vertical broke the news that guard Elliot Williams will sign a one-year contract that offers some salary protection. Both McGee's and Williams' contracts will pay the veteran minimum for next season.
Williams, the No. 22 pick in the 2010 NBA draft, has played with Portland, Philadelphia, New Orleans, Utah and Memphis. Last season, Williams played in five games with the Grizzlies via a 10-day contract. Williams has a connection with Golden State, as he has played with its D-League team, the Santa Cruz Warriors, the last two years. In 2015-16, he made 21 appearances and averaged 28.4 points, 5.9 assists and 6.8 rebounds for the D-League Warriors.
