Shooting guard Marcus Thornton ended the 2015-16 season with the Washington Wizards and was re-signed by the team on July 28 to a one-year contract for the veteran minimum. Thornton feels the Wizards are a good fit and is hoping to stay with them for the duration of his playing career.

"Hopefully this is my last stop, right here," Thornton told The Washington Post. "This organization has been straight up with me since Day One. I would like to remain here. I feel like I wanted to be back, and I’m glad they brought me back."
Thornton, a seven-year NBA veteran, averaged 8.4 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game with the Wizards last season. Since entering the NBA in 2009, Thornton has played with New Orleans, Sacramento, Brooklyn, Boston, Phoenix, Houston and Washington.
Thornton enters the preseason second on the Wizards' depth chart at shooting guard behind starter Bradley Beal.
