LAS VEGAS 6, SALT LAKE 4; LAS VEGAS 2, SALT LAKE 0: In Game 1, Cory Vaughn delivered a three-run double in the sixth to break a 3-all tie. Alex Castellanos finished 3-for-3 with two doubles and two runs scored. Luis Cessa allowed two runs, neither earned, in 5⅔ innings. Logan Verrett, optioned to Vegas this week, started the nightcap and tossed five scoreless innings. Castellanos had another double in Game 2, giving him a Pacific Coast League-leading 32 double. BINGHAMTON 2, NEW BRITAIN 1: Jared King pelted the right-field wall with a tiebreaking double in the seventh to push the B-Mets past New Britain in the rubber game. Michael Fulmer (4-1) allowed one unearned run and struck out seven in seven innings. With the score tied at 1 in the seventh, Gavin Cecchini started a two-out rally by dumping a single into right field. Cecchini took second on a wild pitch. King, batting in the top third of the lineup for the first time since June 12, ripped a go-ahead double. King's drive snapped an 0-for-12 skid for the B-Mets with runners in scoring position. Box

ST. LUCIE 7, CHARLOTTE 2: Stefan Sabol provided a go-ahead, two-run double in the seventh as St. Lucie roared back to defeat the Crabs. Trailing 2-1, the Mets scored three runs in the seventh and three more in the eighth. Kyle Regnault closed out a shaky ninth by striking out Willy Adames on a full-count pitch with the bases loaded. Mets starter Kevin McGowan allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits in 6⅔ innings. He managed to keep the Crabs at bay despite walking five batters. Kelly Secrest took over and recorded the final out in the top of the seventh. In the bottom half, Sabol tomahawked a two-run double to left field against Kyle McKenzie that put the Mets up 3-2. Phillip Evans followed with an RBI double. The Mets loaded the bases with no outs in the eighth. Jairo Perez followed with an RBI single. Victor Cruzado added a two-run double to cap the scoring. LEXINGTON 3, SAVANNAH 0; SAVANNAH 7, LEXINGTON 4: Michael Gibbons allowed three runs in six innings in a complete-game loss in the makeup of a June 27 rainout. The Gnats did not muster a hit until John Mora's one-out single in the fifth. In the regularly scheduled game, Tomas Nido hit a three-run homer and Eudor Garcia added a two-run shot. ELIZABETHTON 9, KINGSPORT 7 (11 innings): After the K-Mets failed to hold a one-run lead in the ninth, Elizabethton plated three 11th-inning runs (two earned) against Adrian Almeida. Kingsport produced a run in the bottom half, but left the tying run at second base when Arnaldo Berrios struck out. Box

BROOKLYN 1, HUDSON VALLEY 0 (7 innings): Tucker Tharp's double plated Enmanuel Zabala in the third inning for the lone run in a rain-shortened game. In their Brooklyn debuts, Blake Taylor and Andrew Church each allowed one hit in three scoreless innings. Carlos Valdez squeezed in an inning before the stoppage. GCL MARLINS 5, GCL METS 4; GCL METS 1, GCL MARLINS 0: Merandy Gonzalez threw a seven-inning no-hitter in the regularly scheduled game. He walked one and struck out six. The Mets broke a scoreless tie in the final inning on Franklin Correa's RBI single. In the resumption of a June 24 suspended game, Anthony Chavez surrendered a two-run single in the ninth after inheriting the baserunners from Luis Carreno as the Marlins overcame a 4-3 deficit.
