LAS VEGAS 8, SALT LAKE 4: Dillon Gee allowed four runs on nine hits and two walks in six innings. Alex Castellanos went 3-for-4 with a homer and four RBIs. Brandon Allen also went deep. Chase Huchingson, John Church and Scott Rice combined for three scoreless relief innings. Box
BINGHAMTON 7, PORTLAND 3: Gavin Cecchini produced four hits, reached base safely five times and extended his hitting streak to a season-high 11 games. Binghamton took a 4-1 lead with a four-run second inning against Justin Haley. Josh Rodriguez opened a stretch of five consecutive hits by singling to begin the inning. Xorge Carrillo laced a two-run double, Cecchini skipped a run-producing single up the middle and Michael Conforto (3-for-5) capped the frame with an RBI single. The B-Mets chased Haley with three straight hits to open the third. Binghamton added two runs that frame -- on right fielder Henry Ramos' error and on Eudy Pina's sacrifice fly. B-Mets starter John Gant surrendered a run in each of his first three innings before settling down. Gant (3-4) allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits over six innings in his first win since returning from a five-week stint in the Florida State League. ST. LUCIE 5, LAKELAND 4: Highly touted Amed Rosario finished 4-for-5 and produced a go-ahead RBI single in the ninth in his first game since June 30. Rosario had been dealing with wrist soreness. Matt Oberste went 3-for-4. Victor Cruzado went 3-for-5. Cruzado sparked the ninth-inning rally with a leadoff double. He scored the game-deciding run on Rosario's single. Jeff Walters, rehabbing from Tommy John surgery, pitched a scoreless eighth and earned the win. Robby Coles issued a walk and allowed a single with two outs in the ninth, but he got Francisco Martinez to pop out to second baseman Jeff McNeil to end the game for his third save. The Mets trailed 4-1 with two outs in the seventh before rallying for three runs to tie the score. Cruzado singled home McNeil to make it 4-2. Stefan Sabol followed with an RBI single. On the play, left fielder Ben Verlander's throw home to get Oberste skipped to the backstop and Cruzado advanced to third. Rosario then sent a grounder to third base that Martinez booted, allowing Cruzado to score. St. Lucie starter Mickey Jannis received his second no-decision in two starts since joining the organization. KINGSPORT 3, ELIZABETHTON 2: Audry German (4-0) allowed one run on five hits and a walk in seven innings. The K-Mets took a 3-1 lead in the eighth on Kevin Kaczmarski's RBI single. Joe Shaw allowed a two-out solo homer in the ninth but earned his third save after handling the final two innings. Box
HUDSON VALLEY 6, BROOKLYN 5 (12 innings): Third baseman David Thompson's throwing error on a sacrifice bunt allowed Cade Gotta to score the winning run from second base in the bottom of the 12th. Zack Mathieu homered and Tucker Tharp plated two runs on an infield single that included an errant throw as Brooklyn had evened the score at 5-5 in the seventh. Tharp finished 4-for-6. Box
