BINGHAMTON 9, NEW HAMSPHIRE 5: Jonathan Galvez drove in three and L.J. Mazzilli and Jared King collected three hits apiece. Trailing by a half-dozen runs, the Fisher Cats mustered a late rally, plating two runs against Josh Smoker in the ninth. The southpaw then retired Matt Newman to secure the victory. Gabriel Ynoa (9-8) allowed three runs on eight hits over six innings to earn the win. Box
PALM BEACH 3, ST. LUCIE 2: The Mets held a 2-1 lead with one out and runners at first and second in the bottom of the fifth inning. St. Lucie starter Miller Diaz then threw a wild pitch that allowed runners to advance to second and third. Rehabbing David Wright fielded an ensuing grounder and opted to throw to first base for the sure out instead of going home to potentially preserve the lead. Mason Katz scored from third to make it 2-2. Carson Kelly followed with the tiebreaking RBI single for the decisive run. Kelly started the scoring for the Cardinals with a solo homer against Diaz in the second. Wright led off the fourth with a single and scored from third on a two-out base hit by Amed Rosario to tie the score. The Mets loaded the bases with one out in the fifth. Dominic Smith nearly hit a grand slam, but his fly ball was caught at the warning track and resulted in a sacrifice fly to put the Mets up briefly, 2-1. Diaz (5-11) allowed three runs on eight hits in 4 2/3 innings. David Roseboom and Jimmy Duff held the Cardinals scoreless over the final 3 1/3 innings. After a scheduled off day, Wright resumed his rehab assignment and finished 3-for-4. Wright played all nine innings at third base. He is now 9-for-24 (.375) in his seven rehab games. SAVANNAH 5, KANNAPOLIS 0: Chris Flexen tossed eight scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts as the Gnats won their 17th straight and 23rd in their past 24 games. Luis Guillorme singled and scored in the opening frame. Guillorme stole third and came home on a throwing error by catcher Sean O'Connell. Flexen allowed four hits -- all singles -- in a 100-pitch effort. Michael Katz's two-run homer in the sixth capped the scoring. Ben Griset closed the game with a perfect frame. Box
