BINGHAMTON 3, TRENTON 2 (12 innings): Xorge Carrillo smacked a walk-off single in the bottom of the 12th inning Thursday. Victor Cruzado led off the frame by working an 11-pitch walk against Cale Coshow. Matt Oberste then singled. The Thunder intentionally walked L.J. Mazzilli to load the bases for Carrillo. He shot a grounder down the third-base line, off the glove of Billy Fleming, sending Cruzado home with the game-winning run. Trailing 2-0, the B-Mets finally got on the board in the seventh inning. Derrik Gibson and Phillip Evans singled and Jayce Boyd walked to load the bases. Dominic Smith then launched a sacrifice fly. Evans later scored on a wild pitch to tie the score at 2. Tyler Pill allowed two runs on three hits in 7⅔ innings. Tim Peterson (1-0) picked up the win with a pair of strikeouts in a scoreless 12th inning. Evans was 1-for-5 and extended his hitting streak to nine games. Carrillo finished 2-for-5 with a pair of singles and the winning RBI. Box
ST. LUCIE 10, DUNEDIN 6 (11 innings): St. Lucie scored four runs with two out in the top of the 11th. Tomas Nido and Michael Katz opened the frame with singles and advanced on Luis Guillorme’s sacrifice bunt. The Blue Jays intentionally walked Champ Stuart to load the bases, setting up a lefty-versus-lefty matchup between Alonzo Gonzalez and Patrick Biondi. Gonzalez walked Biondi on five pitches to force in the go-ahead run. Gonzalez then walked rehabbing Travis d'Arnaud on four pitches to bring in another run. Amed Rosario plated a third run with an infield single. A throwing error by Gonzalez allowed Biondi to score for a four-run cushion. D'Arnaud, again serving as the designated hitter, went 2-for-4 with three walks, two runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base. Amed Rosario finished 4-for-6. Five Mets pitchers combined to walk a season-high 11 batters in the victory. With St. Lucie trailing 6-3 with two outs in the eighth, Stuart blasted a two-run triple. Biondi then dropped down a bunt single to bring Stuart home and tie the score. Robby Coles tossed 2⅓ scoreless relief innings and earned the win.
