The lone hit against him came on Connor Harrell's second-inning single. Mike Gerber spoiled the shutout bid in the ninth with an RBI single against Kyle Regnault. JUPITER 7, ST. LUCIE 6: St. Lucie finished the regular season with a 74-61 record, including 39-29 in the second half. A best-of-three opening-round playoff series begins Tuesday against Bradenton. On Sunday, the Mets tied their season-high by committing four errors, which led to four unearned runs. The Hammerheads took advantage of two errors in the first inning by third baseman Jhoan Urena to grab a 5-0 lead. The Mets scored the game’s next five runs, with Urena’s third-inning groundout plating Kevin Kaczmarksi to tie the score. St. Lucie starter Corey Oswalt allowed five runs (two earned) in 2 1/3 innings. Jupiter’s Taylor Ard broke the tie in the top of the fourth with a run-scoring infield single against Mike Hepple. COLUMBIA 5, CHARLESTON 1; CHARLESTON 4, COLUMBIA 1: Gaby Almonte tossed a complete game and Dale Burdick laced a two-run double in the Game 1 win. Almonte allowed one unearned run on four hits in seven innings. With the Fireflies trailing 1-0, J.C. Rodriguez led off the fourth with a double. He ultimately scored on Patrick Mazeika's sacrifice fly. The Fireflies added four runs in the fifth. Will Barring walked and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Luis Ortega then delivered a run-scoring single. Charleston starter Daris Vargas threw two more wild pitches, allowing Ortega to score. Vargas then consecutively walked Tucker Tharp and Rodriguez. Burdick plated both with a double. In Game 2, Charleston's Mandy Alvarez produced a three-run homer against Kevin Canelon in the third.
