PHILADELPHIA -- Terry Collins, who previously had backed off giving Wilmer Flores a good look at second base because of the rookie's balky ankles, may now give Flores some action there with David Wright returning to the lineup and blocking third base.
Collins said he "might" start Flores at second base on Sunday, when the Mets face left-hander Cliff Lee. However, Collins added, he is not positive about using Flores there Sunday. His apprehension: While the Mets' lefty hitters generally do not hit southpaws particularly well, Lee is primarily a fastball pitcher (75 percent of the time). And that's not a bad matchup for Daniel Murphy. Murphy is hitting .276 (8-for-29) with four doubles and three RBIs in his career against Lee.
Flores has appeared in two games and started one game at second base since joining the major league squad.
