WASHINGTON -- Kyle Farnsworth, dropped by the Mets on Wednesday night, will sign a deal by Saturday with the Philadelphia Phillies or Cincinnati Reds, Jim Duquette tweeted. The contract is likely to be a major-league deal.

UPDATE: Jon Heyman also reports Farnsworth on the verge of signing, but expects an AL club.
