Pat Cummins: "A lot of things went right these couple of days and a lot of things went wrong last week. We needed to bounce back and it was a great couple of days for the lads. I thought everyone was sharp. It was the opposite last week. If you get a really good first hour or two it can set up the rest of the match. Green looked in total command, held our innings together. Hopefully he can take a lot of confidence from that. We know how good he is."

Najmul Hossain Shanto: "We know how good Australia are. They showed their character. We didn't play our best this Test match. This was different conditions. A little extra bounce and swing in the air. It was challenging for us. But as a team if we want to go forward we need to address these conditions and I think this experience will help us moving forward. It was quite difficult for all the batters. Their batting also struggled with Shoriful. It was a quite difficult wicket to bat to be very honest. We need to be consistent and I believe if we get more chances in similar conditions it will help us. And that's what we want. Not 23 years to wait to come here. If we get chances to come back more often it will improve our game."

Player of the match and the series is Mitchell Starc: "A much better week. We knew we were not at our best in Darwin. Bangladesh played really well. Take nothing away from them there. What we expected from ourselves this week is what we got particularly with the ball on a wicket that aided us with the ball."

3.08pm Australia win by an innings and 51 runs. This is the second shortest Test ever played in Australia. It's the fourth shortest Test of all time. It is the first time Bangladesh has been bowled out for under 100 twice in a Test and the first time any side has been bowled out twice for under 100 in both innings in 21 years.

Josh Hazlewood on Fox: "The wicket was pretty good. Not sure it should have been a two-day game. There was enough there. It quickened up a bit today. There was a bit of seam movement morning of day one as you'd expect but once the shine went off the ball it didn't do a lot. It's always going to get scrutinised if it is two days but it played better than that."

Nathan Lyon on Fox: "Felt really good out of the hand. It was pretty hard to get a bowl sometimes. I feel really good physically. I'm probably feeling better than I have in my career. I thought that pitch was brilliant. I don't think it was an 18-wicket day one pitch. Hats off to the curator. I thought it was a nice wicket. Similar to the Gabba. But you've got some pretty good bowlers bowling."

John: "A suggestion for these 2-day tests, add a third innings to both teams."

Akash: "This performance answered two important questions for the Aussies: Bowlers still got it. Batters ain't. "

2:44 pm That ray of hope for the visitors lasted only 27 runs off 80 balls before Shanto fell for 31 and broke the partnership; then the batting disaster continued from there. Litton remains a walking wicket in this series, adding another duck to his tally, while Miraz threw his wicket away chasing a wide bouncer from Cummins to nick behind. Bangladesh's fight to survive goes on, albeit in strange fashion, with Mushfiqur Rahim refusing to farm the strike and repeatedly exposing the tail. That tactic proved costly when Taijul's leg stump was cleaned up by a ferocious delivery from Starc, handing the pacer a 10-wicket haul.
