That wraps up today's coverage! Thank you for tuning in. Be sure to join us again tomorrow for the double-header. Until then, this is Rashad Mahbub, signing off on behalf of Binoy George. Goodbye!
Player of the Match, Mohammad Nabi: "The top order set a great platform for the middle order. With only six overs remaining when I came in, I just tried my best to put a strong score on the board. The pitch wasn't bad at all; the ball was coming onto the bat quite well. [Secret of power hitting] I always practice as a power hitter. Since I usually bat at number six or seven and face fewer deliveries, I focus on building a stronger base to hit the ball harder. I always try my best to contribute to a victory. [Thoughts on Atal and Salamkheil] Sediqullah was dropped for a few games, but he made a great comeback tonight. He anchored the innings, built crucial partnerships, and took the game deep. As for Waqar, he is always aggressive and remains a positive, wicket-taking option for our team."
Dasun Shanaka: "Winning this game is very pleasing. We discussed that our batsmen needed to take the innings deep, and I am delighted with how we performed, especially with the contributions from Jordan Cox, Sediqullah Atal, and the way Nabi finished it off. [Atal] While I initially expected a total of around 160, Atal's innings provided the glue we needed during the first half. His performance gave us that extra cushion, turning a competitive total into a dominant one. Having Mohammad Nabi in the side is a massive advantage. On a tricky surface where you can't simply walk out and start playing big shots, something even I struggled with, his immense experience was vital. We are lucky to have a player of his caliber in our group."
Sikandar Raza: "They outplayed us in all departments tonight. We were inconsistent with the ball, performing well only in patches. While chasing 180 on that wicket was a challenge, I felt we were always just one solid partnership away from taking control. Unfortunately, we couldn't build any momentum, which made the target look daunting. We have a back-to-back game tomorrow, so we need to put these demons to bed and learn from our mistakes immediately. After winning two in a row, this loss is a setback, but we need to start peaking now to stay in the competition. Facing the table-topping Desert Vipers tomorrow will be a true test of where this team stands."
Shadow-Shell: "Shanaka can enjoy getting back the national captaincy with a win"
10:02 pm The Sharjah Warriorz never looked comfortable during their pursuit of 181. They faced early trouble when Mustafizur Rahman deceived Johnson Charles with a wide off-cutter, forcing a top edge to short third man. Haider Ali added to their woes by dismissing Tom Kohler-Cadmore in the fourth over. The Warriorz were struggling at 45/3 after the Powerplay and urgently required a partnership. James Rew and Sikandar Raza briefly stabilised the innings with a 39-run stand, but the partnership ended when Raza holed out to deep midwicket off a Waqar Salamkheil googly. The Capitals' spinners then limited the scoring in the middle overs, resulting in a cluster of wickets as the scoreboard pressure got too much. Rew remained the lone fighter with 47 off 38 balls. It was a clinical performance from the Capitals' bowling and fielding units, a remarkable turnaround for a side that dropped seven catches on this ground against MI Emirates just two days ago. Mohammad Nabi and Salamkheil both claimed three wickets, while Mustafizur and Haider Ali finished with two each.
