9:54pm The defending champions stride into the playoffs with a strong show. They were always in command of this middling chase, except perhaps for one or two overs towards the end. With Cox set in the middle, you would have backed him to get the job done and he delivered, taking 18 of the Southee over to make it a decisive one. He and Jahangir set the platform, really, with their 76-run partnership. It was a display of measured assault, one that has pushed Warriorz to the brink. They are not knocked out just yet. They have to beat Desert Vipers in their last outing by a convincing margin and hope either of Gulf Giants or ADKR don't win theirs by a big margin.

Tim Southee, Warriorz captain: "Got ourselves right back. My over towards the end was defining. We had to keep taking wickets to be in with a chance. The nature of the wickets is keeping sides in it for long. Not over for us. One game left, we win that and give ourselves a chance."

Mohammad Nabi, Capitals captain: "Tough conditions to chase. Shayan and Cox played really well. We already had lost such a game against MIE. Still that scenario was in my mind. That 19th over helped us a lot. Haider bowled really well."

Jordan Cox, Player of the Match: "It was quite tough against spin. When seamers came on, we put pressure on them. Impressive, Jahangir. We have been telling him to play aggressive, he has been doing that. It was his option to take it down, misexecution. Just about taking it on and not leaving it to the next man, really."

That's all we have from Dubai tonight. Warriorz will be in action day after tomorrow again, taking on Vipers in their last leage games. Do join us as things are getting exciting for the last playoffs spot. Merry Christmas! Till next time, take care. Ciao!
