There was a big gulf between the two sides and a disernable difference in both quality and variety in their bowling attacks. The Pakistani contingent in the Vipers team inflicted most of the damage, with Tariq picking up three wickets and Naseem being miserly in his spell, conceding only 5 runs per over. Khuzaima was tight as well, but they will need to tidy up a bit more in the final as a bowling unit, where the margin for error gets slim. Earlier, Gous slammed an unbeaten 120, perfectly complemented by Fakhar, who went on a run rampage. Curran provided the much-needed impetus to the innings. MI Emirates started well, meeting fire with fire as Waseem and Banton launched a boundary barrage. But as soon as they got out, the asking rate climbed exponentially, and the Vipers applied the stranglehold.
