The heavens stopped downpour and the men on the ground tonight responded with a rain of boundaries in this high-scoring affair. MICT made full use of the conducive conditions and lit up the ground with boundaries all around, setting up an imposing total of 234; thanks to Rickelton's massive century, ably supported by van der Dussen as both complemented each other brilliantly. A few cherries on top were added by Karim and the scoreboard pressure proved handy in the end. There was a big difference in the quality of the two bowling line-ups -- with the services of Rabada, Bosch, Linde, and MICT captain Rashid himself, they were always the likelier team to defend the total. Still, kudos to JSK, who, despite missing the injured Faf du Plessis, managed to fight till the end and brought the deficit down to just 36 runs. Praiseworthy response from James Vince, who thwacked 77 off 43 while Forrester remained unbeaten on 80, keeping them alive in the contest; but in the end, the quality of bowling and the escalating asking rate proved too much
Ryan Rickelton, Player of the Match: Great win, great night out and a great partnership with Rassie. Nice to do it at my real home ground...a special night, really chuffed to get a win. I was thinking about live celebrations, saw KL Rahul do it in IPL. I don't know why that was on top of my mind but it came out the way it did
