Firdose's match report is up, do check it out. A fantastic way to start the league and the future looks even more promising. It's a double-header tomorrow. Hope to see you for that. Thanks for joining tonight.
Ryan Rickelton, POTM: Mixed emotions. Different game from both teams, neither hit their strap. Disappointing to be on the wrong side. At some point, you have to make decision. That Noor over, I felt we lost momentum. We know why he's bowling. Knew he'll either get me or Nicky out. There's no moment to relax in a 230 chase. I did enjoy. Haven't been chuffed with my cricket. Nice to be out there on Newlands on Boxing day.
Aiden Markram, DSG captain Entertaining game, it was high-scoring. Edge of the seat. 232 felt enough. We needed 2-3 good overs at the back-end. It's a great start, great venue. Hope this game will create a lot of hype. MI batted well, few areas we need to touch up on.
Rashid Khan, MICT captain: Great game, specially for the fans. You can't ask for a better Boxing day than this. Hope crowd had a good time. I think we gave 15-20 too many. Amazing, the way Rickelton played was unbelievable. DSG batted really well. That gives momentum. All know how strong their top-five are. Quite unlucky with the result, we gave the crowd great entertainment. Always great to be here, playing in this beautiful stadium.
Shadow-Shell: "A high scoring last over thriller. What a great way to announce the beginning of a tournament"
9:04pm: The chase didn't feel like it'd come this close halfway in despite Rickelton getting off to a good start. As it turned out, Reeza falling gave DSG turbocharge. Smith's 14-ball 41 narrowed the gap between both teams. When Pooran and Rickelton got 40 off 24. Mapakha and Noor were briilliant at the death. With Rickelton not out at the start of the final over, MICT still had a fighting chance. He'd gotten a life earlier and then tonned up too, unlucky for him to be on the losing side.
Shadow-Shell: "Bosch vs Bosch"
