That's all from us at ESPNcricinfo. We'll see you in Wellington next for the fourth T20I. On behalf of Raghav and Thilak from our scoring team, this is Sreshth saying bye-bye. Take care and enjoy the weekend.
Santner, the winning captain: "A new team to this ground, we wanted to put them in and make it hard for them. There was a good amount of seam, bounce. You look at the depth in our fast bowling, you see, Sears and Jamieson, it was a simple blueprint today: whack the wicket and also some slower balls. Neesham's three overs were also massive for us. The chase looked tricky since Gerald bowled rockets but it was good to see the two boys, the openers, soak it up. But you can afford to do it when chasing 137. What was nice was that we were chopping and changing our bowlers, but the boys were raring to go irrespective. We bowled very well in these conditions."
Maharaj, the losing captain: "We lost wickets early and it's tough to recover from 46 for 5. But the lower order rallied to give us some runs on the board. But the batting we did in the first ten overs really put us behind. We weren't adaptable enough and couldn't adjust. We are a young side, not to make excuses, but we want to take the lessons quicker. Beauty of the series is that we've still got a chance to make a comeback. Want to be more clinical with bat and ball in the next game. Mokoena's shots shocked us in a good way and we bowled well in parts too. He's 19, probably never dreamt of international cricket this quickly, but we are excited to see how the future looks for him. He maybe doesn't know himself how good he can be."
Ferguson is the Player of the Match for his 1-9 in four overs: "Good day. Good to be back in Auckland. Chuffed to bits. The groundstaff do a great job to put some extra pace and bounce. I love the energy of the crowd. We've got a great depth in the bowling. Sears has bowled exceptionally bowled. Kyle bowled very well but didn't have a lot of luck. Sears did the enforcer's role really well today. I've been fortunate to play alongside some great players and good to see the talent today. [Economical spell today] Always hunting for the wickets. Tried to get 'em tonight, didn't happen but happy with the economy. Santner and Cole bowled nicely and got turn too."
A fun evening for the home fans. Time now for the presentation.
10.24pm That's as comfortable as it can get. Ferguson was outstanding with his 1 for 9 in four overs. Santner was magical too in his bowling spell. Jamieson and Sears looked menacing at times. And then in the chase, Latham and Conway ensured there were no hiccups. Latham (63*) carried through to finish with a red inker and a half-century. South Africa bowled well in parts but they were maybe 40 runs short, if not more. A reminder - This is the last fixture of the series for Conway, Santner and Ferguson, who will all be rested for the remaining two matches
