10.30pm Now, finally, the formalities are done and the team goes up to collect the trophy. This has been quite a riveting series, with two great hat-tricks, and lots of brave knocks. Afghanistan head straight to the World Cup now, while West Indies have one more series in the kitty to fine-tune their combinations before finalising their plans for the big tournament. For now, both teams will revel in their positives.
A few of the players' kids sit in front of the "WINNER" banner as the Afghanistan players lift the trophy: a sweet note for me, Abhijato, and Deiva to sign off on. See you around!
10.15pm Time for the post-match presentations.
Player of the Match, Shamar Springer, speaks first: "Feels great being the third person to have taken a hat-trick for West Indies. I was just patient, waiting on my turn, and giving my best when I got out there. The goal was just to avoid dots while batting. [For bowling] Trying to make the batters hit to the big side."
Player of the Series, Darwish Rasooli: "I put a lot of effort into giving stability to Afghanistan's batting order."
The West Indies captain, Brandon King, says: "All the bowlers bowled today and made it hard for [Afghanistan batters]. We're coming up with pretty good plans from a bowling POV. This is closer to what we can do [on today's game]."
Afghanistan skipper Rashid Khan now: "It was so important for us, before the World Cup, to have this series. The areas we wanted to improve, we got so many positives from. Massive preparation and gave us so much energy. We had an opportunity to see how we are going to chase down a total, how calm we are as a team. In the World Cup, in same conditions, how do we chase 150-160 as a team? We work on it and come back to see how we can improve in this area. We have to do it back-to-back, again and again. We can't give 45-50 in the final overs. We need to improve there."
10pm And West Indies have a consolation win that will feel like a lot more. Afghanistan were 94 for 1, but in the backend of the innings, West Indies kept a tight leash on their batters. Interesting fact that the defending side won all three matches: tells you that the pitch was a really tough one to bat on, especially as the chases wore on.
Springer is the man of the moment with his hat-trick which finished the game off. The first batter he got out, Gurbaz, was single-handedly keeping Afghanistan alive. A shotout to him, too, for batting on like he did after that ghastly blow right to his face because of an astray throw from the deep.
The Afghanistan batters are disappointed. They throw their heads back as they walk away. But there are smiles and handshakes all around the ground. Hetmyer and Rashid - who had a heated moment in the first innings - have a light moment too. That's what you like to see.
Wisal: "Losses are part of the game. Learn, regroup, and move forward with belief." - That's what both teams will take away from today's game. The all-important T20 World Cup in just a few days is all that will matter to these sides, not this series, you'd think.
Mathi: "West Indies beating mighty Afghanistan, Games gone...." - Haha, I see you flipped over the usual cliche when West Indies gets beaten, Mathi! To be fair, it only goes on to show how much Afghanistan have grown in T20s. They will know they carry a lot of expectations over the next few weeks...
MK: "Last 5 overs 37/6.. Says it all about Afghanistan's fall."
Mujeeb Ur Rahman run out 4 (5m 3b 1x4 0x6) SR: 133.33
He scored a half-century that didn't give Afghanistan victory, but Rahmanullah Gurbaz's show of grit made the 3rd T20I against West Indies remarkable
