9:51pm That will be all from us for this game. Lots of cricket lined up to usher in the new year, though, and the SA20 is already on, with another contest scheduled later in the day. Until next time, from Harshith and myself (Shashwat), it is goodbye!
Shadow-Shell: "Lynn scored more than 50 runs than the next highest scorer if the match. #Lynnsanity"
Liam Scott, Player of the Match: Always nice to contribute to a pretty good win. That has been my role and nice to impact the game. They (Lynn and Overton) are class players. It is just awesome to get another win on the board. (Taking the new ball) Bit of match-up stuff. Thinking of swinging the new ball with me and Woody. We will see how it goes in Perth. Having forty thousand here, it feels awesome.
9:46pm A real hammering in the end. Lynn headlining that run-chase with a 41-ball 79, and that should do both his and his team's confidence a world of good. Short was scratchier but his partnership with Lynn at the top ensured there were no hiccups for the Strikers.
The Heat just did not have enough on the board, and so it proved. They could not take any powerplay wickets either and once that happened, they were always playing catch-up. This defeat will have dented their NRR too, and they will now have to rectify that moving forward.
