END OF OVER:
18 | 13 Runs | PBKS: 200/3 | RR: 11.11

  • Shreyas Iyer101 (51b)
  • Suryansh Shedge9 (7b)
  • Mohsin Khan4-0-48-0
  • Arjun Tendulkar4-0-36-1

So PBKS are up to fourth on the points table. If RR beat MI tomorrow afternoon, it is all over for PBKS. But if MI beat RR, then KKR have an outside chance to overtake PBKS on NRR if they beat DC by 77 runs if they score 200. Or if KKR are chasing, they would need to chase 180 in around 12-12.4 overs. But if that doesn't happen, and if RR have lost, then PBKS are through.

Priyankar: "No one in the commentary cared to write at 17.6 that DC's campaign has formally ended....A DC fan"

Rishabh Pant: It's a tough one, we have to bite the bullet, keep our head high, has been a lot of learning ... tough season for us for sure. I think we scored enough, it's harder in the second innings because the batting gets easier, that's why everyone wants to field first. As a team we want to look at the positives, Josh Inglis, Mitch Marsh, Prince had a terrific season, Mohsin coming back from injury ... Shami bhai. Definitely a lot of positives. It's been a long season, we promise to come back stronger next year.

Ricky Ponting: We did it the hard way. We were sloppy in the field again, gave them 20 more runs than they should have got. Pretty clinical chase, the captain has done that often before. It's his first IPL century and we'll celebrate that tonight. He's a brilliant guy, very mature player, mature leader, keeps his emotions in check, the respect he has is second to none, delighted to work with him, delighted with the season he has had ... Prabh is a terrific player, only in the last couple of years has he realised how good he can be at the top of the order. Mature innings tonight in a good run chase. We have a nice team room, we'll get the boys together and watch it (MIvs RR) ..."

I'll have the presentation for you shortly.

Shreyas Iyer is the Player of the Match, having scored his maiden IPL century in a crucial chase: Ecstatic, first hundred of the season, we won eventually after six consecutive losses. Support MI tomorrow. Elated by the bowling performance after going for 16 off the first over, Azmat bowled brilliant ... it's all about momentum in this situation, Yuzi got a crucial wicket of Pant, he showed his character after leaking runs in the previous game ... I know if I give myself time in the middle and time the ball, rather than getting on top of the ball ... I know I need to stay out there for as long as possible. Prabh was temperamentally active and the communication we had was great ... surreal feeling, finishing a game and scoring a century, I was in a great mind space, felt super from within. Partnership was crucial, creates momentum in the game, seriously elated. We just kept it simple, rather than having meeting and putting pressure on the boys. Free flow of mind is required in. crucial games, don't want to make them overthink, told Ricky we don't need to do a team meeting.

And so the race for the IPL 2026 playoffs will only be decided on the final day of the league stage. RCB, GT and SRH are through, the final spot is currently held by PBKS. And that may or may not change depending on Sunday's results. Do join us tomorrow for what will hopefully be a thrilling end to the league stage. Cheers.

Mohsin Khan to Iyer, SIX, maiden IPL century for Shreyas Iyer, and what a time to get it. Winning runs to keep PBKS alive in the race for the final playoff spot. He gets to his hundred by smashing a length ball over the wide long on boundary and raises his arms in delight and relief. After six consecutive defeats, PBKS have finally won a match, and now their fate rests on the result between RR and MI tomorrow afternoon.
