Ollie Peake: "It was a little bit different to the last few games, but I was really impressed with how Alex Lee-Young and Drapes were able to finish it off at the end. Pretty testing conditions, but were able to finish it off clinically. [Foursome as an attack?] Really strong, they started amazing again today. Anytime they get 3-4 wickets in the powerplay it's good to start the game on the front foot. And against a good opposition it was good to get into their middle order early. And then it was impressive for Aryan Sharma, Schiller and Kasey [Barton] to follow suit after that. Think today the wicket was a bit more tricky but happy to be going to a new place and new challenges. Looking forward to the next couple of weeks."
Muhammed Bulbulia: "I thought it was a brilliant effort in the second half of the game. After a hard start in the morning the boys should a really good fight in the backend and there was great energy in the fielding. [batting?] I thought around 250-260 we would have really been in the game. We just weren't able to build partnerships and then we lost wickets in clusters. [Finishing well?] Extremely important, we play with a lot of pride so the match against Sri Lanka is going to be really important for us to get those two points.
Player of the Match goes to Charlie Lachmond for his 3 for 29: "Similar to last game, the wicket was pretty good. You could afford to bowl really good balls and put them in the right areas, wear them down and get the rewards. It's pretty good [the partnership between the "Fearsome Foursome"] it's gelling quite nicely, we had things to work on in the first few group games but it's really nice to see everyone gel together and put together a complete performance to set us up for big wins."
3.14pm So a patient Australia chase finally comes to an end as they hunted down a target of 119 in 32.5 overs. Many would have thought this was a game that would have come to a close much earlier, but South Africa's seamers kept things incredibly tight as Australia themselves were not ready to risk anything in their pursuit for a crucial two points. JJ Basson was the pick of the South African bowlers with figures of 3 for 41, while Bayanda Majola bowled outstandingly for little reward - beating the edge on several occasions. The work for the South African bowlers though was always an uphill struggle after their Australian counterparts tore through the South African batting. Each of the Australian bowlers picked up wickets, with the seamers in particular proving devastating - though South Africa's batters will also be disappointed with some of their shot selection.
