Here's the updated points table
Oh, what a game of cricket! A win for ODI cricket. This game had several ebbs and flows, with Ireland living up to their reputation much like their senior team, giving Pakistan a run for their money! It was a low-scoring, exhilarating affair but Pakistan managed to remain unbeaten in the World Cup. They had Ireland at 60/6 but a remarkable recovery from Ireland hauled them out of trouble, as they added 121 runs after the collapse thanks to John McNally's gritty resistance and support from Harry Dyer. Pakistan's captain shuffled his bowlers in a bid to wrap things up quickly but Ireland persevered and put up a decent score. If not for the extras, it would have gone down to the wire as Pakistan stuttered in the chase.
Saad Baig and Azan Awais got a partnership going in reply but got out in 20s, bringing Ireland back into the game. Thereon, Ahmad Hasan, the standout performer, remained calm and assessed the situation intelligently. Haroon Arshad added an important 25 down the order and then Ali Asfand played second fiddle to Ahmed in the end. Harry Dyer was the pick of the Ireland bowlers; he spun a web around Pakistan batters and picked up four scalps in a stunning spell of spin wizardry. Scott MacBeth was excellent as well, and Oliver Riley hardly gave any room, maintaining a stellar average of 3.85. Reuben Wilson though had a somewhat forgettable outing, bowling nine wides and one no-ball that released the pressure.
Ahmad Hassan, Player of the Match: We lost wickets early on, wanted to implement what I had been playing before in the nets, and played positive cricket. We needed a partnership. Saad and Rizwan were playing well but unfortunately that partnership broke and so we wanted to spend time on the crease. I aimed to bowl wicket to wicket and got swing early on, bowled at the right areas and got assistance.
umar Tara: "Thanks for palpitations and the win ..well done "
Fazal Haq Shah: "Pakistani players are playing really well. Please don't be disappointed with few wickets. "
Dr Face: "Having tachycardia while Watvhing pakistan bat like the way senior team give us"
Sandesh : "@hamid You may see an upset from Nepal especially against Bangladesh . These Nepal U19 team seems so promising"
Zakir : "They did it, great JobI had to take 2 tablet of propranolol "
Abhash: "Today's win by India and Pakistan basically shuts the door for whatever little chances Nepal and Ireland had to qualify for semis. But pride to play for none the less."
MahNaz Awan: "Watching with my hubby and his anxiety and stress watching Pakistan cricket is contagious. Hope boys will bring tis home and make him happy"
Moazzam Baig: "Pakistani batters must learn how to bat sensibly and how to get a runs on a bad deliveries, T20 cricket is destroying pakistani cricket from senior to junior level, they can't play in pressure games. "
Hamid: "It seems win or lose Pakistan game against BD will be a virtual quarter final. As I don't see India or them losing to Nepal"
Asad ur Rehman : "Always nice to see Rvel on comms" Thanks
