A clinical chase for New Zealand, who have notched up a ten-wicket win and are two from two games. UAE batted well but came up really short with the ball. That's that from us for this game. Thanks, everyone, for tuning in. The day is far from over, though, with Pakistan taking on UAE in Colombo. Hop to the other tab where Alan Gardner has started his comms. Till then, this is me, Ashish Pant, signing off on behalf of Abhijato, Thilak and Chandan. Ciao!

NZ captain, Mitchell Santner: [On the win] Yeah, it was alright. Credit to UAE, they batted very well, sussed out the conditions well. But we batted well. Once we understood the conditions, the bowlers did well. It was a better wicket that the other day. [On the bowlers] They used the pace nicely. The death phase from the seamers was great. [On Rachin bowling late] With the bigger side, we thought that was the best option. He bowled well. I was just playing the sides. [On the openers] Yes, to watch when you are in the middle order is great. They look straight and targeted the short side. Running twos to the long side. [Next game] Ahmedabad looks like a good wicket and that is a massive game for us.

UAE captain, Muhammad Waseem: We were short by 15-20 runs, but we also need to step up as a bowling team. Surface was very good. We have to look after the bowling and our variations. We need to execute our plans. We need to do that. We will think of the next game. This is past for us now. We will take the few positives with the bat. [On Sharafu] He is a very talented guy and he will show more in the next few games.

Presentation time

Tim Seifert is the player of the match: Great start. We are playing how we want to play. Me and Allen putting pressure on the bowlers. We just want to adapt. Every ground is different; you just need to adapt. [On the surface] Very good. In the first innings, it was holding a little, but overall a great wicket. It is T20 cricket, you don't always get going but the main thing is how you adapt. Finn batted very well.

6.07pm This is the highest stand for any wicket in a men's T20 World Cup. And it is fitting Siefert ends the game with a huge six; after all that has been the theme of this evening. Muhammad Waseem, during the mid-innings, said that UAE was 15-20 runs short. They might have been 40-50 runs short with the way the two NZ went. Seifert ends on 89* off 42 with 12 fours and three sixes. Allen on 84* off 50 with five fours and five sixes. They never let any UAE bowler settle and once NZ bashed 78 runs in the powerplay, it was always going to be one-way street.

PB: "So Butler and Hales have been de-throned from the highest t20 world cup partnership record"

Silly.Point: "Move over, Travishek.. TIFINN is served!" Oh, man... I have mixed feeling about that name

In the slot outside off, he stays legside of the ball and deposits this miles over long-off. New Zealand win by ten wickets and have chased down 174 in 15.2 overs. A proper mauling from NZ and they are now two in two!

Shab: "What is the format for super 8 stage in this tournament? Will the teams carry points and NRR to that stage?" This and a lot more in the FAQs.
