10.10pm: Time to hear from the captains, starting with Chamari Athapaththu: "We've not played our best cricket, in all three departments. Bowling at the stumps is the most important thing, we bowled different lines and areas, we need to improve. [Batting] We played positively, lost couple of wickets in the powerplay and momentum. Nilakshika batted well but we must do better. [NZ next] They are a big team. We need to execute our plans and see what we can do in the next game."
England's Nat Sciver-Brunt: "What a way to start, Danni and Amy looked so composed. A huge performance. [Fitness after calf injury?] Danni had me running from the first ball. Happy to find the middle of bat. Had a couple of innings in warm-ups but nothing compared to being out there. Really composed, we went about the game in a really good way. Massive win for us and really happy with that start."
And that is that for the opening night. England were Wicked with bat and ball, and will hope this is the start of a showstopping campaign. You can read all about it in Andrew Miller's report, and we'll have more to come from Valks and the team. Don't forget to join us bright and early tomorrow for the start of a triple-bill of Women's T20 World Cup cricket. Bye!
10pm: Nerves? What nerves? England have brushed past Sri Lanka in their opening match, with Danni Wyatt-Hodge and Freya Kemp the standout performers. Wyatt-Hodge's first T20 World Cup hundred powered England to a record total in the competition and it looked like being academic as soon as Chamari Athapaththu fell in the fourth over of the chase. Lauren Bell and Charlie Dean were incisive and Kemp then blew away the middle and lower order to finish with 4 for 21. England start with a bang and go top of the early Group 2 standings
Danni Wyatt-Hodge is unsurprisingly Player of the Match: "Great fun, what a crowd. Really enjoyed playing here. What a start. Great to get a good start in a World Cup, really enjoyed it out there with Amy and then Nat doing what she does best. [Celebration] That was for Daisy, a little cradle. We said it was important to start well, we did that tonight. Our bowlers did incredibly well on a good pitch. Off to Southampton we go to play Ireland."
