The champagne is ready to flow as Molineux collects the T20 World Cup from ICC chairman Jay Shah. The Australia team get together for a photograph with the champions sign in front of them. Gardner and Alana King are tasked with the flowing of the champagne. All smiles in the Australia camp as they celebrate a seventh T20 World Cup win. They then go around the ground to thank the fans, who have turned up in large numbers. That will be all from us this evening. Thanks for tuning in, not just for this game but the entire tournament. In case you missed any of the action, Alan Gardner's report will have you covered. Until next time, this is me, Ashish Pant, signing off on behalf of Chandan and Alan. Ciao!

Sophie Molineux, the winning Australia captain: [How does the win sound?] Too good to be true. Dad's here as well, it is a special day. [What did it take?] A lot of thought, a lot of effort, hard work and a group that were ready to do anything for each other. And that's been a real thing in these last four months. [Experience] Invaluable. Having the likes of Pez to calm the team down after that first innings, Ash has been around for a long time. To see someone like Lucy Hamilton take it to water, she was just so calm. [Calmness around the team?] It is just about being able to trust each other, trust the process. We have looked at the last few WCs and moments where we have been on the backfoot. The answer was to stay calm and do it with our skills. We have done a lot of work in the last few weeks and it is nice for things to come into fruition. [Unbeaten] In tournament play you have to have the same mentality no matter the situation. Very pleased with how the last few weeks have gone [On Perry] She's incredible. What she brings to the team isn't just on the field. Her nature and how she is, she is the heartbeat of the team. She is a legend of the team. She deserves so much. For her to have another WC in the bag is pretty special. [Other Thank Yous] Firstly, a massive congratulations to England. You have played an amazing brand of cricket. Well done for a great tournament. To the fans, this has been an incredible tournament. In every match, there has been a massive crowd. Thank You everyone. Been an absolute pleasure to be a part of. To the girls, incredibly proud.

An emotional Nat Sciver-Brunt, the England captain: Hugely disappointed. We have had such a great competition up to the this point and it feels odd. We were outplayed today by a classy Australian side. You saw their experience in a huge final. [What could you have changed] I would have won the toss and elected to bowl. We were short of a par score on that wicket. It felt tricky to gain momentum with the bat. When the pressure is on, their bowlers hit their mark. We left it too late in our bowling innings. Bethney played a brilliant innings. They have a powerful line up and you know you have to take regular wickets. They have got great depth in their batting line-up. Makes it difficult for bowling line-ups. [On England's journey] We have so much to be proud of. We have done so much work pre-tournament and the energy throughout the group was awesome. We have played great cricket, everyone has done their bit and we have celebrated everyone's success. It is a tough one to take but we will be back. [Crowd] It is such a privilege to play for our country and in front of some great people.

The on-field umpires will collect their medals first, followed by the England players.

Finally, time for the presentation.

Here's Sampath with a stat nugget:

Beth Mooney First to be named player of the final at the women's T20 WC, twice (2023 & 2026) First to be named player of the tournament at the women's T20 WC, twice (2020 & 2026)

We will have the rest of the presentation once the Clean Bandit finish their performance.

Beth Mooney is also the player of the tournament: [Do you still get the same buzz?] This has been on the calendar for a little while for us. It's just nice to be part of the squad, first and foremost, and then have a role to play in batting and keeping. Just pumped to be here. There's been a lot of evolution in this group in the last 12 months, and a lot of growth, and some fun times as well. So, really nice to be part of the team today. [Her game] I think just playing the game with a bit of conviction, a lot of freedom, a lot of bravery, and backing each other and having lots of fun. You know, I mentioned we've got a lot of support on the sideline. Our coaching staff and support staff are amazing. Had a couple of niggles along the way, but we've managed to have a full squad to pick from in a big game, and you can't shy away from how important that is. So, it's a great group to travel with. We've been on the road for five and a half weeks, and plenty of people have come from halfway across the world to watch the finals, some a couple of days ago, some a few weeks ago. So, we feel the love and feel the support here and back home. [Word on your new captain as well] Yeah, Soph she's been amazing. She's just calm and composed and doesn't look too flustered. She's put her own spin on the captaincy and been a great leader. I think she's going to be a great leader in Australian cricket for a long time.

Beth Mooney is the player of the match: Just happy to be here. It has been well documented that we haven't come this far in the last two WCs. Just woke up this morning grateful to be here. [On her keeping] I was rusty at the start, but I got some great support in our coaching staff. I can't take too much credit, it has been nice to have some consistency with the gloves and play a role. [Standing up to the stumps] It's a conversion that happens between me and the bowlers. Happy to do it. It's their plans and their jobs to execute and for me to clean up if something goes awry. [Chase] It was important to settle the dugout in the powerplay. Big game, so Voll hit the ball pretty well and then had an unfortunate dismissal. Phoebe came out and announced herself from ball one and I carried on and made sure to get ahead of the game.

Ellyse Perry: Today's been truly special. Like the atmosphere, the occasion - it's been absolutely phenomenal. We're so grateful to have the opportunity to play here, and then for it to have fallen our way, it's just been super special. It was an amazing performance from the girls against like an awesome England team - who've had a great campaign and who we respect tremendously. So yeah, I'm really over the moon. Just looking at our group, they're amazing people who always want to get better. We've had some things to work on and some challenges in the last couple of years, and I think to come through it the way we have, and like hopefully taking our game to a new level, and most importantly people have come out and enjoyed watching us play, that means so much to me. To have the chance to be a part of that is a privilege of a lifetime, and it's been nice to make the most of it. [On the young fans watching the final] I think most importantly not just young girls, but all the young boys here today as well, that's been the coolest shift in the last couple of years… We've equally got as many young girls and young boys out here watching, and in years to come they're going to think it's totally normal for women to be out here on the field doing their thing. It's been an awesome spectacle to come and watch, so to me that's the awesome thing, and so to all the kids that have been here today I hope you've had a great time. But also, the parents bringing them along, and just general fans of cricket: we're so indebted to you and you've made today as special as it has been.

Georgia Voll Yeah, pretty bloody excited, I think it's been a great campaign and to finish it off like we did today, pretty bloody pumped. Yeah, obviously the way that Pheebs went out there and just took the game away from them today, it was pretty cool to watch, the way that Moons went out there and just dominated from ball one, so yeah it was a clinical win in the end. [On the squad] Yeah it's been great, the lead up the last couple of months, working really hard back home and then coming over here and having a really good tournament, to top it off like this, it's been such a whirlwind couple of months and to come over here and put some performances on like that, yeah the squad's pretty happy.

Phoebe Litchfield: So special, if you would have said at the start of the month that we will be winners, it would have been great. [Chase] We wanted to throw the first punch and we wanted to get the run rate down to six an under. Moons took the pressure off me. Such a cool feeling to win. [Celebrations] I think it will be led by our skipper Sophie Molyneux, she's the best partier, but I think a shout out to the Aussie fans in the crowd today, we heard you loud and proud.

Shelley Nitschke, Australia head coach: Oh, I'm pretty stoked, pretty relieved to be honest, I thought that was an amazing effort by the girls. We had a fantastic tournament, but you just never know coming into a final series, so for everything to go as it did for us today, we couldn't be happier. [On consistency] Look, I don't think there's any secret sauce, I think we pride ourselves on our standards and we've spoken about getting those positions and making sure that we continue to close out games and things like that, so it's certainly something that we talk about and getting those positions and trying to be consistent with that. [Beth Mooney] Yeah, she's pretty determined, she's been fantastic for us, particularly through the final series and the semi as well, she's certainly pretty determined to get us into a really good position at the end of that powerplay and has done a fantastic job of that. She just has the ability to stand up when we need her in a clutch moment and knows her game really well and was awesome again today.

Lucy Hamilton: Hard to put into words the feeling. Such a happy mood. [First wicket] It was great. Lord's the occasion, I was pumped and I am glad this came off. [Family coming over] Was lovely for them to come over. Was really glad they did.

Annabel Sutherland: Pretty surreal, don't have a lot for you. We are going to celebrate pretty hard. Different people have stood up at various times. We did an exceptional job with the ball and then with the bat we were solid. Such a good atmosphere. An occasion like this deserves a crowd.

6.48pm Molineux has tears of joy. A one-sided final has gone Australia's way by seven wickets and England will be left to rue their chances. The win was set up by the bowlers, who varied the pace, bowled tight channels, and never gave England any chance. Not often you see Nat Sciver-Brunt facing 53 balls in a T20 game and only managing 58 but Australia did not give her an inch. At the mid-innings mark, it still felt that the pitch was two-faced and runs on the board in a fall count. Out walked Beth Mooney and said, 'what's the fuss about?' She blazed away and, with Phoebe Litchfield, bossed the powerplay. Thereon, it was a straightforward run-chase as Australia cantered home. England should be proud of their journey but it can be safely said that you need to be extra special to beat this powerhouse of an Australian team, and England were well short. The England players look disconsolate. Georgia Voll has her arm around Ecclestone, who is on her haunches.

Abinash Das: "Cometh the hour, cometh the Australian women's team. Opponents arrive with hope, but Australia arrives with the receipt for the silverware."

Michael D: "England paid for not including Dunkley"

rob lewis: "150 always looked 20 or 30 short at least but with a modest score like that 11 wides is just unacceptable. Well done Australia - just the most formidable sports team imaginable "

Ecclestone to Gardner, 5 wides, Same old Aussies, always winning. A SEVENTH T20 World Cup crown for serial winners, Australia! Was there ever, even for a minute, any doubt? They chase down 151 without hardly breaking a sweat. The game ends with five wides. Fired down leg, Gardner misses the sweep and the ball goes past the keeper. Gardner hugs Perry with a beaming smile. The Australian team charge out to the middle. All smiles in their camp. This has been a ruthless performance from them, not just in the final, but through the tournament. An unbeaten campaign for them and another piece of silverware added to an overflowing cabinet. Mooney did it with the bat, and how fitting is it that Perry is out in the middle when Australia register their seventh title

Smith to Perry, no run, Another one bites the dust and that is a solid catch by Ecclestone at mid-off. Angled in on off stump, Perry charges down the track looking to go up and over mid-off. She gets too close to the pitch and doesn't get the elevation. The ball is dying on Ecclestone as she dives forward at mid-off but ensures that the fingers are underneath the ball as she completes the catch. The third umpire wants to be absolute sure about the legitimacy of the catch and .... HANG ON... she has ruled this not out. Ecclestone is beyond shocked. So are the other England fielders. That just looked like a clean catch. But the third umpire sees it differently. She saw multiple replays, slow-mos and reckoned the ball was grassed. Andrew Miller pings saying that Ecclestone is absolutely blowing. Charlie Dean had to step in front of her to stop her from confronting the umpire. Perry had almost gone to the dugout, has to run back in.

Ecclestone to Mooney, OUT, Huge appeal for lbw. Oh, this looks mighty close. Has Ecclestone accounted for Mooney? The umpire stays unmoved. Surely, England will review this. Yes, they do. Pushed fuller on middle stump, she misses the flick and is stuck very low on the pad and pretty much on middle stump. No bat, on we go. What does the ball-tracker say? Pitched in line, impact in line and the ball is smashing into leg stump. Mooney finally falls in a World Cup final as she walks back with what will surely be a match-winning 64. What a knock this has been!
