Phew! What an exciting day of PSL double-header games today. Plenty of action is coming up tomorrow too; do join us again tomorrow. Until then, this is Rashad Mahbub calling it off and closing out the game on behalf of Rvel Zahid and our scorer, Chetan Kumar. Sayonara!

Marnus Labuschagne: "[Fourth on the points table] I don't have too many words for that. That whole game was pretty special. We saw two special hundreds, firstly from Steve [Smith]; that was a captain's nightmare. A lot of credit has to go to our bowlers for those last three overs. I don't know the exact numbers, but I think the last three overs didn't go for many runs, and that was probably the difference in the game. Then for Usman to come out; especially with the tournament he's had, which hasn't been perfect, and play with that confidence and clarity was just special. [Death over bowling] Spot on. I think we've been tossing and turning with that position, and Akif [Javed] came in today and finished off the innings really well. A lot of credit goes to those guys. We've put a lot of faith in Hunain Shah and Mohammad Ali, and Akif came in and delivered today as well. Probably the one we haven't spoken about is Hassan Khan, who bowled beautifully on a very good surface, and then scored 24 off six or seven balls to ice the game like that. [Usman] Yeah, he sort of said, 'I think I need a couple of games off.' And I said, 'You aren't getting a couple of games off, mate. I know how good you are.' I think that's just what this team has done; we've believed in the people we've got and trusted them, and it's paying off."

Ashton Turner: "[Discussion during the innings break] I thought we had a good score on the board. We assessed that par was 190 to 200. It's a good wicket, and you combine that with a fast, hard outfield and some pretty small boundaries; that seemed like par. [48/3 and thought you were in with a chance?] Yeah, of course we did. We were in a really good position. And you know, that's the challenge of professional cricket. The PSL is a really high-quality competition and there are good players everywhere you look across all of the teams. They are no different; they had some quality middle-order batters today who put us under pressure and played some remarkable innings. [Team effort] Yeah, I mean, we've had another few really pleasing contributions. We've got some quality cricketers in our side who are going beautifully. We'll dust ourselves off pretty quickly. We know that we need to keep playing our best cricket and keep finding ways to learn and improve. Today was probably the first time that we've really been put under pressure in a close game. It's nice to get a close game out of the way, and hopefully we'll be better for that going forward."

Player of the Match: Usman Khan

10:50 pm It was a game full of runs, twists, turns and plenty of firepower. The excitement took us right down to the wire and the team that made fewer mistakes walked away with the points today. The Kingsmen were struggling just two weeks ago, but they have now secured four wins in a row and jumped into fourth place, proof that luck truly favours the brave. The powerplay saw 54 runs but cost three wickets, with Ismail acting as the chief destroyer. He took back to back wickets and narrowly missed out on a hat-trick when Usman Khan nicked the hat-trick ball, but surprisingly nobody appealed. That non-appeal was a significant mistake. Labuschagne started with attacking intent, while Usman, having been given a life on his very first ball, went on to smash boundaries at will, reaching his fifty in just 20 balls. Labuschagne eventually brought up his own half-century off 31 balls, but Usman was the one truly rampant, hitting sixes for fun all over the ground. Their 123-run partnership off 64 balls finally ended when Labuschagne was caught out in the 16th over for 61. Usman then brought up a 44-ball century, the fastest of the season, and was the first batter to score 4 centuries in the PSL, single-handedly turning the game around before departing for 101 off 47 deliveries. Siddle briefly clawed back some momentum by dismissing both Maxwell and Usman in the 18th over. However, Wasim handed that momentum right back, getting hit for 18 runs in the 19th over and then dropping Hassan on the first ball of the final over. Hassan made the most of that chance, smashing 24 runs off just 6 balls to ensure his team crossed the line.
