How crucial was the Santner-McConchie stand? (3:19)

Sri Lanka have been knocked out of the T20 World Cup. And considering their recent record at the men's T20 World Cups, it might not have come as a surprise.

0.346 - Sri Lanka's win-loss ratio in men's T20Is at Colombo's R Premadasa Stadium. They have won nine and lost 26 of their 35 T20Is at the venue. Their win-loss ratio is the second-poorest among teams that have played 15 or more matches at a single venue. The poorest is UAE's 0.214 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, where they have won three and lost 14 of their 17 T20Is.

2014 - The last time Sri Lanka reached the semi-finals of a men's T20 World Cup. They won the title that year.

1 - Rachin Ravindra became the first New Zealand player to score 30-plus runs and take four wickets in a T20I. Overall, he is the fourth to do so in a men's T20 World Cup match.

84 - Partnership between Mitchell Santner and Cole McConchie for the seventh wicket, the highest for the seventh or lower wicket at the men's T20 World Cup, bettering the 74-run partnership between Michael Hussey and Steven Smith, also for the seventh wicket, against Bangladesh in 2010.

70 - Runs New Zealand scored in the death overs (17-20), the joint-highest by them in a men's T20I. They had scored 70 against West Indies in 2020 and also against Scotland in 2022.

New Zealand's 70 runs is the joint-fourth-highest in the death overs at the men's T20 World Cups. The highest is 86 by Ireland against Oman, also in this edition.

1 - Santner became the first New Zealand player to complete a double of 1000 runs and 100 wickets in T20Is. Overall, he is the eighth to do so.

20 for 2 - Sri Lanka's powerplay total, the lowest by any team in this World Cup. Nepal's 22 for 3 against West Indies was the previous lowest.

It is also the second-lowest by Sri Lanka in the powerplay in a men's T20I. They were 18 for 3 at the end of the powerplay against India in Dharamsala in 2022.

30 - Overs bowled by spinners in the match, the second-highest in a men's T20 World Cup game. The highest is 31 by India and Pakistan when they met in Colombo earlier in the tournament.

New Zealand's spinners bowled 17 of those 30, the joint-highest by them in a men's T20I, alongside the 17 they bowled against India in 2023 in Lucknow.
