Fancy dress is almost compulsory at Alexandra Palace and it's no different at this year's tournament.

As Luke Littler and Co. put their skills to the test at the oche, ESPN brings you the best looks sported by revellers at darts' showpiece event.


Thursday Dec. 11

The opening night saw defending champion Littler dispatch Darius Labanauskas and Michael Smith outclass Lisa Ashton.

Friday Dec. 12

Gian van Veen earned his first win on the Alexandra Palace stage as Ricky Evans brought the Christmas cheer.


Saturday Dec. 13

Former world champions Luke Humphries and Gary Anderson advanced to the second round while Peter Lim, 71, became the oldest player to win a match in world championship history.


Sunday Dec. 14

Stephen Bunting battled past Sebastian Bialecki in a first-round epic after Nitin Kumar became the first Indian to win a match at the PDC World Darts Championship.


Monday Dec. 15

Monday's crowd saw some unsavoury scenes as Cameron Menzies repeatedly punched a drinks table on stage after being knocked out by Charlie Manby.


Tuesday Dec. 16 and Wednesday Dec. 17

Tuesday was headlined by Gerwyn Price and the Ally Pally wasp, while Wednesday saw Raymond van Barneveld crash out in the first round.


Thursday Dec. 18

Thursday was a day for the underdog with Motomu Sakai overcoming Thibault Tricole and Kenyan qualifier and veterinarian David Munyua shocking 18th seed Mike De Decker in one of the biggest upsets in World Darts Championship history. Michael van Gerwen also had to work hard to beat the popular Mitsuhiko Tatsunami in the evening session.


Friday Dec. 19

Leonard Gates delighted in the afternoon session before Josh Rock got the better of Gemma Hayter. Beau Greaves later came within a whisker of beating No. 22 seed Daryl Gurney.


Saturday Dec. 20 and Sunday Dec. 21

Saturday saw several seeds fall but Stephen Bunting progressed with a dominant win over Nitin Kumar. On Sunday, Luke Littler safely navigated his way to the second round, but his much-anticipated quarterfinal showdown with Gerwyn Price was scuppered after The Iceman was beaten by Wesley Plaisier.


Monday Dec. 22

David Munyua's dream run at Ally Pally came to an end on Monday before Ricky Evans outlasted James Wade in a classic. The evening session saw Luke Humphries, Nathan Aspinall and Gian van Veen ease past their respective opponents.


Tuesday Dec. 23

Peter Wright became the latest seed to fall on Tuesday afternoon and he was followed by Danny Noppert a few hours later after he was beaten by Justin Hood in an absolute thriller. Michael van Gerwen also got the better of William O'Connor.


Saturday Dec. 27

Stephen Bunting became the latest big name to exit the tournament on Saturday but Luke Littler was flawless in his routine win over Mensur Suljovic.


Sunday Dec. 28

Luke Humphries was pushed hard by Gabriel Clemens, as was Gary Anderson by Jermaine Wattimena but they joined Gian van Veen and Michael van Gerwen in booking their places in the fourth round.


Monday Dec. 29

Charlie Manby's dream Alexandra Palace debut continued as he got the better of Ricky Evans before Nathan Aspinall fell to Kevin Doets. In the evening session, Luke Littler battled past Rob Cross and Ryan Searle didn't drop a set (again) as he got the better of James Hurrell.


Tuesday Dec. 30

Justin Hood's dream World Championship run continued on Tuesday as he routed Josh Rock but Charlie Manby's tournament debut ended at the fourth-round stage. Gary Anderson emerged victorious against Michael van Gerwen in a battle between multiple world champions.


Thursday Jan. 1

Ryan Searle and Gary Anderson progressed to the semifinals in the afternoon and they were later joined by Luke Littler who crushed Krzysztof Ratajski and Gian van Veen who got the better of world No. 2 Luke Humphries.


Friday Jan. 2 and Saturday Jan. 3

Luke Littler cruised into the final with a comfortable win over Ryan Searle before Gian van Veen came through an epic semifinal clash with Gary Anderson. 'The Nuke' returned on Saturday to dismantle Van Veen in a one-sided final.
