Pitchers to stream on Thursday
Trevor Rogers has recorded a quality start in nine of his past 11 outings, including two straight. Over this span, he sports a 2.48 ERA and 1.03 WHIP with 70 strikeouts and just 16 walks over 72 2/3 innings. Next up is a road tilt with the St. Louis Cardinals. Rogers faces a below-average offense with a lefty on the hill, with lower numbers at home due to pitcher-friendly Busch Stadium.
After tossing five scoreless frames in his last outing, Noah Cameron has a 1.05 ERA and 0.63 WHIP over his previous 42 2/3 innings. To be fair, he fanned a modest 36 hitters in that span, but he didn't surrender any home runs. Homers have a tendency of catching up, but the Kansas City Royals visit the Toronto Blue Jays, so Cameron faces the lineup with the third-lowest home run rate at home versus lefties. ยท
Sean Manaea is set to take the hill against the Milwaukee Brewers, with Jacob Misiorowski getting the nod against the New York Mets. Manaea's appeal drops a bit if recording a win is integral to his value, but his allure ticks up in formats scoring innings or quality starts. The lefty logged at least six innings in seven of his last eight outings, with four quality starts. Over this stretch, he's registered a 3.67 ERA and 1.24 WHIP, with 49 punchouts in 49 frames. The long ball has been an issue for Manaea, but the Brewers have the lowest home run rate against lefties in MLB.
Hitters to stream on Thursday
The Orioles line up for a productive afternoon with the Cardinals set to promote Cooper Hjerpe for his major league debut. The 25-year-old lefty missed 2023 after undergoing Tommy John surgery. Control was an issue before the injury, and it remains troublesome, with 26 walks over 29 1/3 innings combined at Double-A Springfield and Triple-A Memphis. The Orioles' right-handed contingent is in the spotlight, featuring Coby Mayo, Tyler O'Neill, Christian Encarnacion-Strand and Christian Franklin.
