ATLANTA -- Shortstop Erick Aybar has been activated from the 15-day disabled list by the Braves.
Aybar, who missed 14 games with a bruised right foot, is starting Sunday against the Chicago Cubs. He had struggled before the injury, hitting .182 with no homers and six RBIs.
Aybar was acquired by the Braves as part of the offseason deal that sent shortstop Andrelton Simmons to the Los Angeles Angels.
Infielder Daniel Castro was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett. He hit .182 in 42 games with Atlanta.
