NEW ORLEANS -- Pelicans guard Jarrett Jack will miss the next four to six weeks after suffering a torn right lateral meniscus.
Jack missed over a year because of a torn ACL in his right knee with the Brooklyn Nets last January.
The Pelicans signed Jack, 33, to a 10-day contract on Feb. 24 to shore up a backcourt thinned by the trade for DeMarcus Cousins.
The Pelicans are likely to free up Jack's roster spot in order fill out their rotation for the stretch run.
The 12-year veteran has appeared in two games for the Pelicans, averaging 3 points and 2.5 assists in 16.5 minutes per game.
New Orleans center Omer Asik will miss his fifth game in a row Friday because of an illness that has caused him to lose a "significant" amount of weight.
Omri Casspi, who was traded from Sacramento along with Cousins, broke his right thumb in his first game with New Orleans and was waived a day later.
The Pelicans, 24-37 overall, have missed 121 games due to injury and illness this season.
