The Oklahoma City Thunder evened the Western Conference finals on Wednesday night, defeating the visiting San Antonio Spurs 122-113.

San Antonio made it a five-point game with 1:25 remaining, but Oklahoma City held on to secure the victory. The Thunder have won nine straight games following a loss in the playoffs, the longest streak since the Miami Heat in 2012 to 2014.

The defending champions used a strong second quarter to stay ahead for almost the remainder of the contest. The Thunder led for 80% of the game and forced 21 Spurs' turnovers, resulting in 27 points. Oklahoma City also had 34 assists, tied for the second most of any team this postseason, according to ESPN Research.

After struggling in Game 1, reigning two-time MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander answered with a 30-point, nine-assist performance on 50% shooting. The Thunder had 57 bench points compared to just 25 for the Spurs. Reserve Alex Caruso had 17 points, while Jared McCain and Cason Wallace added 12 each off the bench.

Stephon Castle led San Antonio with 25 points and eight assists but had nine turnovers. His 20 turnovers over the past two games are the most by a player in a two-game span in the playoffs since turnovers were first tracked in 1977. Victor Wembanyama had 21 points, 17 rebounds, six assists and four blocks, while Devin Vassell added 22 points.
