News: 5 days agoGordon rushed seven times for 39 yards and didn't bring in his only target in the Dolphins' 20-7 preseason loss to the Commanders on Friday.

Spin: Gordon began seeing touches alongside Jaylen Wright during the Dolphins' second possession. The second-year back averaged just 2.8 yards per carry as a rookie in 2025, and Gordon looked particularly impressive Friday while recording nine- and 12-yard runs. He'll continue his battle for the No. 2 running back job with Wright behind De'Von Achane in Miami's second preseason game on Saturday, Aug. 22 at home against the Giants.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Gordon is battling Jaylen Wright for backup work behind lead back De'Von Achane in Miami. Gordon was used sparingly as a rookie and didn't exactly move the needle. The 2025 sixth-round pick averaged an ugly 2.84 yards per carry on 70 attempts and 3.6 yards per target on the nine balls thrown his way. Gordon is still very young (22 years old), and his size (6-foot-1, 226 pounds) adds to his long-term intrigue. He'll have some insurance appeal if he beats out Wright for primary backup duties.
