News: 1 day agoDouglas (lower body) returned to practice Tuesday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Spin: The rookie third-round pick apparently is fine after making an early exit from Monday's practice. He was the subject of fantasy attention before that, catching one of two targets for 28 yards while playing with Miami's starters in a 20-7 preseason loss to Washington on Friday. Douglas made a spectacular, one-handed grab, though only after poor footwork cost him a sideline catch earlier on the drive. He has a real shot to start in Week 1 given the lack of established talent on the Dolphins' WR depth chart.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Douglas was selected by the Dolphins in the third round of April's draft. Douglas is a tall, perimeter receiver with big hands and long arms who, after not seeing much work during two seasons at Florida, exploded for 60-877-6 and 54-846-7 receiving lines at Texas Tech over the last two seasons. His overall efficiency was underwhelming, including six drops and a shaky 1.81 YPRR in 2025. He impressed with a 4.39 40-yard dash at 206 pounds (111 speed score) at the combine. Douglas has a path to a large offensive role as a rookie (Malik Washington, Jalen Tolbert and fellow rookie Chris Bell are his primary competition), but life may be tough in a rebuilding Miami offense led by unproven Malik Willis. He's only worth a late flier.
