KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Running back Spencer Ware, the Kansas City Chiefs' leading rusher, has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars because of a concussion.
The Chiefs will go with Charcandrick West as their main featured back against the Jaguars. West is second on the Chiefs with 139 rushing yards. He played last week against the Indianapolis Colts mostly in the second half after Ware left the game and rushed for 52 yards on 14 carries. West led the Chiefs in rushing last season with 634 yards.
The only other running back on the Chiefs' roster is Bishop Sankey, who was signed only this week from the practice squad of the New England Patriots. Sankey played the past two seasons with the Tennessee Titans.
Ware this season has 511 rushing yards, a 5.0-yard-per-carry average and three touchdowns, two rushing and one receiving.
