The 2026 NFL training camps have kicked off around the league, and our team reporters are on the ground each day following all the action. The Jacksonville Jaguars camp is taking place in Jacksonville, Florida, and Jaguars reporter Michael DiRocco has the latest intel on standouts, highlights, position battles, depth chart movement, cut decisions and of course the quarterback room.
What follows is everything we are seeing and hearing at Jaguars camp. We will update this file often. How much will we see Travis Hunter on both sides of the ball in camp? Sunday, Aug. 2
Travis Hunter had one of the most impressive training camp practices of his career on Sunday, making two catches on offense and intercepting a pass on defense.
His first catch came on a deep over route on a throw from Trevor Lawrence. He had a step on cornerback Jarrian Jones when he caught the ball and accelerated down the sideline for what would have been a big gain.
He made his second catch, also from Lawrence, over his left shoulder down the right sideline with a defensive back on his back.
"The deep reception was awesome to see," offensive coordinator Grant Udinski said. "He's continued to progress from a route technique fundamental standpoint, but also a knowledge of the offense and just the system in general.
"When he has the ball in his hands, he can create something special. He can make guys miss. He has a great awareness of defenders and space out there on the field, but he also has great ball skills. So those things kind of pop off the tape."
Hunter intercepted Nick Mullens' pass to tight end Quintin Morris, jumping in front of the throw and returning the ball for what would have been a touchdown.
More observations from the day:
RB Chris Rodriguez Jr. participated in 11-on-11 work for the first time in camp. His snaps were limited but he did get two carries as part of a gradual ramp-up of participating that coach Liam Coen said would be the plan. Rodriguez missed the spring after undergoing surgery on his left foot.
WR Parker Washington had one of the plays of the day when he made a sliding catch in the end zone on a deep throw from Lawrence during an 11-on-11 move-the-ball period.
The Jaguars will be in full pads for the first time on Monday.
Friday, July 31
Cornerback Jarrian Jones had the best performance of any defensive player so far in camp with a pair of interceptions and a pass breakup on Friday. Jones intercepted quarterback Trevor Lawrence's sideline pass to receiver Parker Washington during red zone 7-on-7 work and also picked off Nick Mullens' throw to receiver Josh Cameron during 11-on-11 work. He also broke up Mullen's pass intended for receiver CJ Williams in 11-on-11.
With Montaric Brown and Travis Hunter locked in as the starting corners, Jones is competing with Jourdan Lewis to be the team's third cornerback. Lewis and Jones can each play outside and inside, making both valuable reserves.
"[Jones] got his hands on a lot of balls today," head coach Liam Coen said. "When he plays with anticipation and just plays free and he's not overthinking it and we're not maybe putting him in positions to overthink, he's able to just go play. And he's a physical dude at the line of scrimmage. He likes to be up front and challenge people in their faces. And so we've got to continue to put him in positions that he can be successful, but I've been really pleased with Jarrian."

More observations:
CB/WR Hunter played 15 snaps in 11-on-11 Friday (seven on offense, eight on defense). Had one catch on two targets.
WR Brian Thomas Jr. had two TD catches Lawrence and got open deep for a third but Lawrence overthrew him. All came in 11-on-11 work.
TE Nate Boerkircher, the team's second-round pick (and their first of the draft because of the Hunter trade), made his first catch of camp in any of the 11-on-11 drills, snagging a throw from Lawrence. Lawrence also targeted him in the end zone on a throw that S Caleb Ransaw broke up.
It was a good day for DE Travon Walker, who would have had a sack after beating RT Chuma Edoga and batted a pass down at the line of scrimmage.
WR Jakobi Meyers, who had drops in each of the first two practices, delivered the catch of the day by diving in the back of the end zone to secure a throw from Lawrence with CB Jabbar Muhammad on his back.
LB Branson Combs intercepted Nick Mullens' pass in the end zone on red zone 7-on-7 work.
Thursday, July 30
There was a potential scary moment during 11-on-11 work when safety Caleb Ransaw was slow to get up after a play and was limping for a few steps before being sent off the field. Ransaw was examined on the sideline and did not return to that period. However, he was back on the field during the Jaguars' next 11-on-11 period and finished practice.
The Jaguars selected Ransaw in the third round out of Tulane in 2025 and planned to convert him from cornerback to safety. He was cleared to participate fully in offseason conditioning and organized team activities and was working with starters Antonio Johnson and Eric Murray in the safety rotation.
"I thought that Caleb did a tremendous job last year of just truly staying engaged through the entire season," coach Liam Coen said in June. "Every single meeting showed up bright-eyed, big smile on his face, took meticulous notes, probably better than some of the guys that were even playing. And that's really paid off for him now that he's been back.
"... And so for him, the consistency, the confidence, that'll continue to grow as he continues to get more reps. I thought he did a tremendous job this spring and I see him continuing to progress and elevate his game over the course of training camp all through the preseason."

One catch on two targets on offense. Targeted once on defense and WR Josh Campbell didn't get both feet in bounds.
More observations:
LB Jack Kiser (right knee) is expected to return sometime during training camp, per the team. Kiser was hurt early in Wednesday's practice and had an MRI Wednesday night.
Catch of the day came from WR Parker Washington in 7-on-7. He made a leaping, twisting catch of a back-shoulder throw from Trevor Lawrence with starting cornerback Montaric Brown all over him.
LB Ventrell Miller and S Rayuan Lane III had interceptions on Wednesday. Lane's interception came in the final period of the day and he stepped in front of Lawrence's throw to TE Brenton Strange, though it would have been wiped out by a pass interference penalty on CB Jabbar Muhammad.
TE Tanner Koziol made a leaping catch over Miller on a ball thrown by backup QB Nick Mullens in the final period of practice. Miller was shaken up on the play and went off the field.
Wednesday, July 29
Running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. was back on the field for the first time since he suffered a foot injury on the first day of the offseason conditioning program, and while he has been fully cleared medically, the Jaguars are still being careful with him.
Rodriguez -- the team's only free-agent signing in the spring -- didn't participate in team drills, but he did individual drills. After practice, he said there's no lingering issues or soreness with his left foot. He's also fine with the team's plan to slowly work him back.
"Feels good," he said in his first public comments since his signing. "I'm on a schedule right now for everything, so the plan is to be back Week 1. So I'm going to take it step by step from here on."
Coach Liam Coen said Rodriguez was signed to toughen up the Jaguars' run game, which wasn't as effective in the latter part of last season.
"The best of C-Rod will not be seen until the pads come on and we play tackle," he said.

S Eric Murray intercepted QB Trevor Lawrence's deep sideline pass to WR Brian Thomas Jr. Murray was fired up after the play, thumping his chest as he walked back to the huddle.
Catch of the day came from rookie WR CJ Williams, who snagged QB Nick Mullens' throw while sliding to the ground with LB Ventrell Miller in coverage. Williams is a sixth-round pick and is competing for the fifth receiver spot.
LB Jack Kiser was injured during 11-on-11 work. He grabbed his right knee after going to the ground, and Coen said he would undergo an MRI on Wednesday night.
