Allen Robinson, a former Pro Bowl receiver who most recently played in the NFL in 2024, officially announced his retirement Monday.
In an Instagram post that came on his 33rd birthday, Robinson thanked the sport and embraced "the beginning of a new chapter."
"To every love story, there comes a final chapter," he wrote. "Football gave me more than I ever could've imagined. It challenged me, shaped me, humbled me, and rewarded me in ways I'll carry for the rest of my life.
"I came, I saw, I conquered and I leave with nothing but gratitude.
"The memories, the relationships, the victories, the lessons, they'll stay with me forever! Thank you for every moment, every cheer, every lesson, and every opportunity."
Robinson was a second-round draft pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2014. He spent four seasons in Jacksonville, another four with the Chicago Bears, and then had stints with the Los Angeles Rams, Pittsburgh Steelers and finally the Detroit Lions in 2024.
Robinson had three 1,000-yard seasons, the best coming during his Pro Bowl campaign with the Jaguars in 2015, when he posted career highs of 1,400 receiving yards and 14 TDs. He finishes with career totals of 565 receptions for 7,058 yards and 43 TDs.
Before the NFL, Robinson starred at Penn State, amassing 177 receptions for 2,479 yards and 17 touchdowns in three seasons in Happy Valley.
