The Montreal Canadiens have re-signed veteran forward Torrey Mitchell to a three-year contract, the team announced Monday.
A source told ESPN.com the deal is worth an average of $1.2 million per season.
Mitchell, who was due to become an unrestricted free agent July 1, was acquired from the Buffalo Sabres at the trade deadline. The 30-year-old Montreal native had five points (1 goal, 4 assists) in 12 playoff games with the Habs this spring.
