Oilers sign Brandon Davidson, Laurent Brossoit to extensions

The Edmonton Oilers have signed a pair of rookies, defenseman Brandon Davidson and goalie Laurent Brossoit, to two-year contract extensions.

The team also announced a pair of waiver moves, claiming forward Adam Cracknell from the Vancouver Canucks and defenseman Adam Pardy from the Winnipeg Jets.

Davidson has four goals and 10 points and averaging a little over 19 minutes of ice time in 47 games this season. He was selected by the Oilers in the sixth round of the 2010 draft.

Brossoit has played one game, allowing a goal on 33 shots in a 2-1 shootout loss to Winnipeg on Feb. 13. Edmonton acquired Brossoit in a trade with Calgary in November 2013.
