Melbourne Victory reach A-League grand final with win over City

MELBOURNE, Australia -- The Melbourne Victory advanced to their first A-League grand final in five years with a 3-0 win over crosstown rival Melbourne City on Friday.

Besart Berisha and Kosta Barbarouses put the Victory into a comfortable lead within 30 minutes.

Archie Thompson added the third Victory goal with three minutes remaining in front of 50,871 spectators.

The Victory, who finished in first place during the regular season, will play the winner of Saturday's other semifinal match between second-place Sydney FC and Adelaide United in the final on May 17 in Melbourne.
