Atl. Nacional v Ind. del Valle
Atletico Nacional top Indpendiente del Valle for second Libertadores crown
Atletico Nacional won their second Copa Libertadores title, defeating upstarts Independiente del Valle 1-0 in the second leg of the final and 2-1 on aggregate.
Miguel Borja's goal in the proved the difference in the ninth minute for the hosts who last won the continental crown in 1989.
Borja, who scored all four goals in the semifinal against Sao Paulo, wasted little time in front of the home fans on Wednesday -- his powerful, low shot beating Librado Azcona after the Independiente goalkeeper parried a dipping free kick into his path.
Independiente, who had played some of their best football on the road during their improbable run, could not not muster a comeback one final time, however, and saw their Cinderella season end in Medellin, Colombia.
