Nicol backs Celtic to win Scottish title over Hearts (1:18)

Steve Nicol backs Celtic to win the Scottish Premiership decider over Hearts, because their "experience is going to be too much." (1:18)

Hearts beat Falkirk 3-0 to stay top of the Scottish Premiership, but Kelechi Iheanacho's last gasp penalty earned Celtic all three points at Motherwell.

Derek McInnes's side looked comfortable throughout as goals from Frankie Kent, Cammy Devlin and a late curler from Blair Spittal meant they got their part of the job done.

But Motherwell took an early lead through Elliot Watt, before Daizen Maeda and Benjamin Nygren turned things around for Celtic, who had to win to stay realistically in with a chance.

Liam Gordon looked to have pegged Celtic back to a point with his 85th minute equaliser, before a late, late handball decision against Sam Nicholson was dispatched by Iheanacho -- sending the title race down a decider between the top two sides on Saturday.

Here's how it happened.

Edinburgh-based Hearts missed the chance to be able to guarantee the title tonight after they drew 1-1 at Motherwell on Saturday -- with talisman Lawrence Shankland once again on the scoresheet.

Celtic responded by coming from behind to dismiss archrivals Rangers in the Old Firm derby the following day at Parkhead.

It meant that Hearts and Celtic are separated by just a point going into tonight's action.

Had Celtic lost tonight, the title would have been wrapped up before the final day.

And although a draw would have mathematically kept Celtic involved, they would have had to beat Hearts by at least three goals to win the title.

It now means that a Celtic win would give them the title, while either a draw or victory for Derek McInnes' side will be enough.
