Laurens: Mateta 'deserved to score' in Crystal Palace Conference League win (1:15)

Crystal Palace have more players at the 2026 World Cup than Real Madrid, after all 48 squads were officially finalised for the tournament on June 2.

Fresh from celebrating Conference League glory, Palace have something else to celebrate, with 12 of their squad selected to represent countries from around the world at the global showpiece.

And those 12 players see Palace ranked among the very highest in the world, with only Manchester City (19), Bayern Munich (18), Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal (both 16) and Barcelona (15) having more of their squad included at the World Cup.

The south London club are level with Manchester United, Atlético Madrid and Al Hilal.

Incredibly, despite finishing 15th in the Premier League, they have more players heading to the U.S., Canada and Mexico than European behemoths Real Madrid, Liverpool and AC Milan.

It comes after Palace had more players selected in the Spain squad than Real Madrid, with Yéremy Pino included and Los Blancos not having a single player picked in Luis De La Fuente's team for the first time in World Cup history.

Representing Crystal Palace on the global stage this summer will be: Chadi Riad (Morocco), Chris Richards (USA), Evann Guessand (Ivory Coast), Daichi Kamada (Japan), Yéremy Pino (Spain), Jean-Philippe Mateta and Maxence Lacroix (Both France), Jørgen Strand Larsen (Norway), Ismaïla Sarr (Senegal), Daniel Muñoz and Jefferson Lerma (Colombia) and Dean Henderson (England).

Other Premier League clubs with notably high numbers of players travelling to the World Cup include Sunderland and Aston Villa, who both have nine players included.

Brighton, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea both have eight players included, though the west London club do have Nicolas Jackson (Senegal) and Mike Penders (Belgium) returning to Stamford Bridge next year.
